Choosing Your Major:

When you get into college, one of the first things you need to do is decide what you are going to major in. A major is an area of concentration that you choose to study more in depth than everything else you learn at

It is necessary that you have an idea of what subjects you have enjoyed in the past or have done particularly well at. You then need to look into the courses and the quality of the courses offered by the school you are going to attend. Look at the different fields that your potential major can be applied to. Finally, you need to look into the career possibilities that arise from having a degree in your particular major. I chose to major in Music Performance at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. I have previous extensive musical training and want to take the knowledge as far as I can.

Kennesaw Student Information:

The Bachelor of the Arts programs at Kennesaw State University is still relatively new but it is one of the most upcoming arts programs in the state of Georgia. The jazz guitar instructor at the college is Trey Wright.

The other major college in Georgia for studying music is Georgia State University. They have a larger music program than Kennesaw State University and have a few more degree opportunities. Some of the degrees that they offer that KSU doesn't are Jazz Studies, Music Composition, Music Technology and Music Management. The facilities at Georgia State are more developed than the ones at Kennesaw State. I chose to study at Kennesaw State partly because it is an upcoming program. I also didn't want to live in the middle of downtown Atlanta studying at Georgia State. There are the good and bad sides to studying at either of the schools and it mainly depends on the individuals' wants and needs.
