You've probably seen the commercials while watching TV late at night. Some graduate or professional training of advertising is a music production, digital media, or technology program for recording any kind.
There are many colleges, universities and specialized schools that offer professional degrees, associate degrees, and a BA in music production, music business, and courses of similar studies.
I graduated from the one-year training in recording and music technology. Then I had a pretty good foundation, there are many things I wish I knew in advance. Higher education in all forms can be quite expensive, and it is important that you consider all your options before the bombing of a small fortune.
Degree Why do you want?
Keep an eye on their motives. Are you trying to get a job in the music industry? Want to improve your skills? Want to produce your own music?
Music production and related industries are creative and technical. Because it is not really an industry standard, such as accounting or law, it is advisable to weigh the number of graduates actually pursue their ability to find work. Your success will be increasingly dependent on relationships with people, skill level and displays the certificate of graduation or withdrawal.
Be sure that the institution is legally accredited degrees it grants. You do not want your training to be neglected, if you choose to transfer to another course, another area in whole or in graduate school.
If you go just so you can get specific skills, accreditation is not important, but check to make sure the program meets your learning objectives, and that investment is worth your time and money. Your time could be better spent watching other people already working on projects that interest you
What is expected from the music production and recording software
No school can quite prepare you for the real world. This is true for any study or discipline. Your education is what you make of it. Can be sure that your training is not enough to make you the next Clive Davis, or Timbaland (a feat not easily achieved, even if you are brilliant).
Recording technique and production, as any creative art, works on the principle that there are no rules, only guidelines. There are a lot of experimentation and hands-on learning to take place. You will not be taught how to develop your ear and be creative (as if these things can be learned) as well as highly technical aspects that go to produce a record. In fact, I cringe when I think back to my old projects.
Some programs teach basic music theory and music business. Others will be more concentrated in a particular area. Only you can determine which program best suits your desired outcome.
The technology is evolving. Tools, software, computers, processors, and so on becoming more sophisticated. You will already be behind the gadgets and the best when you graduate. This has nothing to fear, because many of the skills acquired is likely that part. Just be prepared to adapt to environmental changes (a good quality of life in general).
Alternatives
If you just want to start or has some personal musical projects that you want to do, you will be amazed what you can do a small personal computers and recording settings.
Vocational training programs cost thousands of dollars. Private schools offering programs of four years can cost over $ 80k.
What happens if you just want to learn very specific things? What happens if you do not have personal time to go to school? What if you can not or do not want to shell out money?
A very economical option, and is much more convenient to learn music production online.
Any educational choice, go out and start learning! Hands-on the more you learn, the more experience you get, the better you can develop your skills. Just like singing, playing an instrument, or other creative art, it takes practice.
