A Better Way To Learn Music

Bookmark and Share
I come to this subject from the perspective of the consumer and provider of music education. I am a consumer in the sense that I was lucky in my life as a student to be taught by some of the most respected musicians in their fields. A supplier that I was a teacher of musical instruments for over 35 years and has taught thousands of students in that time.

As a student I was grateful that I was able to tap into these unique and valuable expertise and guidance. I always found it frustrating, however, and the other a lesson, not alert anyone to offer help when I needed it most.

As a teacher who quickly realized the problem exactly the same but in reverse.

Why, if a student decides to learn to play an instrument format is usually pretty standard: one lesson a week to its schedule. In this lesson, the length to be perhaps the most commonly within a half hour or an hour. Believe it or not, when I taught in schools, it is not uncommon for lessons only last 15 minutes, and also that the teaching be shared with other students! These are the restrictions on the budgets of public education. You should just have to wait much longer in direct contact with the teacher, if you were lucky and talented enough to study at the highest level of the Conservatory.

Even during this time of contact is possible, as in all face "to deal with right now, teaching things to be misunderstood, misinterpreted or simply not fully understood. It is a valuable lesson time lost for both students and teachers alike.

All this is nothing new. It was thus, as long as man has tried to make music. Even as far back as the end of 1980, I experienced during the production of teaching instrumental music on videotape for students to refer to them between classes with their teacher. In fact, I was exploring the possibilities of the student and the teacher never even having to meet face to face to make lessons more accessible to more students - in mind budgetary constraints? The problem was at the time the technology was in its infancy, and the results were difficult at best.

But now, 21 century with the advent of the Internet there are better ways and more effective to learn the music, whether it is an instrument of your choice, or simply to read music. The combination of improved technology of recording audio with the video recording means that experience can now be archived and available in a single click. The more of these experiences can be produced best in their field - Anyone can now access the best education I was lucky enough to get, but not to participate in the conservatory.

Compared to the cost of face-to-face classes such illustrious teachers also offers a digital alternative to a much more affordable way to learn the best digital training courses will pay a fraction of their face-to-face counterparts.

The problems of having to keep pace with a teacher by asking expert has also been removed. Video course means a student can go at their own pace. If a point is missed or an exercise that is poorly understood, it is a simple matter of going back and pass it again and again if necessary. In a live, face to face lesson, the words, the dissemination of knowledge is there, but for a moment, then disappeared. In a video lesson is there in perpetuity, to be taken on a whim.

We all have the talent, more or less. For a talent, learning to play in the middle of another is not a problem. For less talented, can be equally embarrassing to be a nightmare until you start to develop your skills. Video instruction, all these problems have been removed. Not only can learn at their own pace, but you can also do the privacy of your home.

So, what can you learn from this? Well, the music, the possibilities are endless. There are courses available in all popular instruments. When it comes to guitar, for example, and you can learn the basics of what takes the fancy styles, rock, classical, folk, rhythm & blues, jazz, country.

Not only the instruments are covered. There are courses available to teach you the techniques and recording studios, how to be a successful DJ, even the best way to make themselves known in business and how elusive land contract.
